New Amsterdam Public: Wintermarket
There is a small non-profit in New York City, the New Amsterdam Public that is working to transform the now vacant Fulton Fish Market site into a public, year round farmers market that supports local and regional sustainably harvested food. Yay New Amsterdam Public!
On Sunday December 16, New Amsterdam Public will be sponsoring a Wintermarket at the former Fulton Fish Market, in addtion to locally and sustainably grown vegetables that you can also find at the Greenmarkets, there will baked goods, meats, both fresh and cured, and most importantly samples to taste.
In addition to all the great food in an historic location, Mario Batali, Odessa Piper and many other great chefs will be on hand to prepare, sample and celebrate this potential new market in lower Manhattan.
