UK housing minister Yvette Cooper made Gordon Brown's promise of new eco-towns slightly less opaque yesterday. A two-phase competition will call on "leading creative designers in urban and landscape architecture and transport planning to share their suggestions for the towns of up to 20,000 homes", she said.
The rest of us can watch the proceedings from the eco-iniquity of C02dom and Gomorrah and hope these eco-hamlets can do enough good to offset our mess.
