Unpaid Internships

While hopefully not endemic in the l.a. field, I've certainly heard a number of stories as of recent about unpaid internships, extremely low wages, and 'volunteer' work. This is a re-post from Architizer which today brought to my attention this fantastic blog site:

I am so happy to see that there is some sort of public discussion and naming of this practice. Maybe something will happen to hold these offices accountable (professional associations anyone? anyone?).

Last week I also came across this site (which currently has some upgrade issues) and functions as a place to review and comment on one's current and/or former office environment. I think it's a great idea, but sadly, when push comes to shove, I think most of us would rather have a regular paycheck and deal with working in crazy town than not work at all.
